Intra-session explanations, analogies, and examples to help it make sense
“At Symmetry Exercise Clinic, we resolve pain and movement issues others can’t solve. Because what we do is so different, people often have a hard time understanding it—that’s why, during our sessions, we use different explanations, analogies, and examples to help it make sense. This post is a growing collection of those. Every time we use a new one, I’ll update this post. If you haven’t tried us yet, hopefully, this helps!”
STRENGTH. Our clients often ask if we help by getting things stronger. They question if a lack of strength is the cause of their pain. They wonder if we can just get things stronger if everything will be ok. Here is a short blog about that: https://mockup2.theupsurgeagency.com/pain_strength/
POSTURE. This one comes up often. Clients question if their posture is the cause of their pain. The summary… It doesn’t and our goal is NOT to “fix” your posture to address your pain. We strategically identify “low quality of control” throughout your body and aim to improve that quality so you move better and feel better. Your posture results from countless variables from unique bone structures to a summation of whole-body information. Want more information of posture? TIGHTNESS/NEED FOR STRETCHING. Yes. This one just never goes away. In a few words… our body view (how we view the body and how it works) does not place the blame on “tight muscles” for the cause of your pain. We suggest tight muscles (the sensation of tightness) are a result of what we call “low quality of control” (see https://mockup2.theupsurgeagency.com/mss_explanation/ for a more complete explanation). A clear understanding of material science and neuro-muscular-physiology contributes to our knowledge that “tight muscles” are not the cause and stretching (or foam rolling, vibration, etc) is not the solution.
